Meet the Team

Lynette Samuel is Co-Founder and Executive Director of LifeSkills for Women, a nonprofit organization that assists women from disenfranchised communities, dysfunctional families, and low-income brackets in moving toward higher education and gainful employment.

Lynette is the author of several children's books that reflect the multicultural diversity of families. As a product innovator, she has created, designed, and licensed a line of children's paper tableware, Lunch Box Napkins and LineLine.

Her products have sold nationally and she has received editorial reviews in Entrepreneur, Good Housekeeping, Parents, Price Club Journal, Women's Circle and Augusta Family Magazine. She has held author signings at Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and Borders Books & Music, and was selected author for Barnes & Noble Writer's Harvest '98." Scholastics [New York, NY] magazines has purchased several of her stories.

Phyllis Leyden-Alexander - Business owner and entrepreneur - Phyllis holds certificates in Bible Studies and Ministerial Ordination as well as studies in Economics and History at Allegheny County Community College.

Phyllis is an Independent Senior Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics and oversees the activities of more than eighty women in her personal organization. She has won numerous awards and recognitions for her selling, recruiting and leadership abilities.

Phyllis is Co-Founder and Program Director of LifeSkills for Women; coordinating seminars, and facilitating meetings to help single moms move toward healthier lifestyles.
